Citywide Clean Up
2023 Fall Citywide Cleanup Event
Twice a year during the months of April and October (spring and fall) – the City of Fort Smith conducts a Citywide Cleanup. This effort is put forth to keep Fort Smith beautiful!
On these specific days, there will be four (4) locations, one (1) in each City Ward where manned trash dumpsters will be available on to Fort Smith residents for disposal of household trash, free of charge.
Proof of residency is required in the form of a water bill or a valid driver’s license. Lines get long on these special days, but our staff works hard to keep things moving along, and the result is a remarkably clean Fort Smith. Join the citywide effort!

Fort Smith’s citywide clean up is powered in part by the Keep America Beautiful and Keep Arkansas Beautiful campaigns. These two organizations promote the citizen responsibility to build and maintain clean, green and beautiful spaces. The Solid Waste Services department is proud to partner with this state and nation-wide initiative that continually strives toward community improvement.
